All I have to say is I board because I enjoy it, I don't count runs or care about ticket prices. Its just that simple, I work hard and like to play hard with the left over money (sometimes very little left over) but I do. To save money at resorts I will sleep in the car to afford another lift ticket, eat crappy food to get more turns. Life is expensive and so is running a resort when winter is becoming and shorter and shorter season. If the season starts 1 month late... the money has to come from somewhere. That is all. P.S. Went to Washington last thurs/fri... worst whiteout conditions I have ever experienced... face planted at full speed and spent over a $100.00 to do so.. still had fun! Sometimes its just doing what you like with your closest friends.. not the price, turns, or conditions.. powder is nice and I will always pursue it.. but not necessary to have a good time. |

At Addicted to Powder we are like most of you; we have families, careers, business, and all those other necessary distractions in life that supercede skiing/riding. If we can manage to get in over twenty days in a season we are doing awesome. We too cross our fingers that the snow will dump on our scheduled days off so we can play in the powder. We struggle through workdays sneaking glimpses of snow cams while our so called friends plunge through the deep stuff without us. At the end of the ski season we pack up our gear and get ready for a favorite summer time adventures. But always in the back of our minds we dream of the deepest turns on the steepest slopes we can find. We sock away our empty bottle money and take on side jobs so we can have our ski funds for the winter. Throughout the summer we will scheme and plan for the next season. What new resorts will we hit for the first time? Will this be the year we finally heliski? Can we find a good deal on some ultra fat planks for the copious amounts of powder we will encounter? How far to the left should we move the house so our spouses will let us sneak off skiing? Stay tuned through the off season as we keep you all in the loop of our plans at A2P. There have been rumblings of a multi resort British Columbia road trip. Maybe you are not as messed up obsessed as we are but then again, maybe you are. If you are checking out this site you like snow sports and it is only a matter of time till the powder drug takes over and adrenaline rules your life. Stop now, before it’s too late; the lift lines are getting too long. See you on the slopes next season. |
